I am coming in 4 weeks for a 7 day stay. I have purchased the dining plan plus with 1 quick service 1 snack and 1table meal. How much more should I budget for food. I am a little concerned about keeping costs down for drink and snacks any hints?

To date, my family has only used the Disney Dining Plan once, and it was the basic dining plan just like you're referring to.  I'm pleased to report that the quantity of food we were provided was more than enough.  Most days, our snack credits went unused because we just weren't hungry.  At the end of our trip we went to Goofy's Candy Co in Downtown Disney for a snack credit spending spree.  We were able to choose lots of snack-type souvenirs to bring home to loved ones who weren't able to visit with us.

All that said, I should tell you that my family happily ate breakfast in our resort room each morning.  We stocked up with cereal, bananas, muffins, danishes, and oranges upon arrival and slowly depleted our breakfast stash over the course of our eight day trip.  With our tummies full from our in-room breakfasts, we found that a counter service lunch and table service dinner provided just the right amount of food to get us through the day.

Do keep in mind that alcoholic beverages will come at an extra cost on the dining plan.  If your family enjoys appetizers before the meal you'll also want to pad the budget a bit for that as they are not included with the basic dining plan either.  Lastly, gratuity for table service meals should also be included in your food budget.  And while it's tough to give you a dollar amount without knowing the specific restaurants you'll be dining at, and what meals you'll be ordering, check out the menus on allears.net to get an idea of what your expenses will be.

    Hope that helps!
