Coming to WDW 2/28 to 3/9 with wife and daughters (7, 5, and 1). I am hesitating making Fantasmic dinner reservations at Mama Melrose for fear that the show will be too scary for 5 & 1 yr old. If we pass on the show we will do 50's Primetime.

    Hi there, David!

Because every child is different, I certainly would not at all suggest that you should or should not take your little ones to Fantasmic at Disney's Hollywood Studios. While it does feature loads of wonderful characters, the basic premise is that Sorcerer Mickey has to fight villains, so of course these dark evildoers are in full effect (spoiler alert: he wins!).

Consider two things: checking out fan reviews on sites like the DIS Boards and on AllEars.Net. These folks can give you a variety of perspectives that might help clarify the tone of the show.

Additionally, take a look at video sharing sites and see if any fans have uploaded recordings of the show, Watch and maybe consider sharing with your little ones to see how they respond. Obviously the circumstances will be different when everything is full scale, but again, this will give you a good idea.

Incidentally, you won't go wrong at either restaurant. Both are terrific.

    Have a wonderful trip!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
