    Coming to WDW for 1st time 10/8 - 10/14. I see that Space Mountain is closing in April for remodel. Any chance it will be open again by early October?I am really bummed at the thought of the kids missing that ride. Thanks!

    Hi Robin,  You are correct that Space Mountain will be closed for refurbishment.  While no official date has been released for its re-opening, it has been said it will be closed for "most of 2009." 

    Space Mountain is a super ride, and I am sorry your kids will miss it.  However, there are so many great attractions throughout the 4 theme parks, I hope they will find some other favorites.  My daughter, who loves Space Mountain, also enjoys Splash Mountain, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Test Track, and Expedition Everest.
