We're coming to WDW for 1st time Dec29-Jan2 & staying at PO-R with kids 6, 4,& 2. I got the unofficial guide to WDW and read w/in the 1st few pgs that the worst time to go to WDW is between Christmas&NewYears. What was your experience?

The week after Christmas is generally busy.   We arrived on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 and departed on January 2nd a week later, and it was very busy.  We waited longer than when we were there in the Fall, however, the spirit of the holiday is just unlike anything I've experienced.  The first week of January, is nice as the crowds have dissipated, and the decorations are usually up until about the 7th or 8th.  My best friend was there in January on the 5th, and they were still up.  So, if you want to wait an additional week, the crowds will be less, as my friend shared with me.  Hope you have a fabulous trip!!!
