We are coming to WDW soon and really hoping the new Shiki-Sai restaurant will be open. Do you know how dining reservations will work, given the 60 day window would now already take diners beyond the promised "Summer" opening date? Thank you

Welcome back to planDisney, Haley! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today. Nothing excites me more than a new dining opportunity at Walt Disney World Resort, and we have got something really fun to look forward to this summer. Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya is a new dining experience at EPCOT that will give guests a taste of an Izakaya-style menu with shareable plates perfect for any celebration. I'm really looking forward to trying the Kobore Sushi and Karaage Chicken!

Haley, when a new Table-Service restaurant announces its opening date, it may not necessarily be more than 60 days out. Typically, the window for booking reservations opens up much closer to the restaurant's opening day! For example, Roundup Rodeo BBQ opened on March 23 of this year, and it was announced on February 13 that the restaurant would start taking reservations beginning on February 21. I expect we'll probably hear about an opening date for Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya pretty soon, and more information about booking a reservation will follow shortly after. I recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog, which is the first place you'll hear about any breaking Disney Parks news, including when you might be able to book a table at this exciting new restaurant.

    Have a magical day, Haley!
