We will be coming to WDW Sept 2015 and during our visit we will be celebrating 2 birthdays. My Daughter n law and my granddaughter have the same birthday. What would be the best (most economic) way to celebrate for these mother and daughter Princesses?

    Hi Sherri,

How special to be able to make a visit to Walt Disney World that includes two birthdays in your traveling party!

Be sure to stop by Guest Relations at any Walt Disney World theme park to pick up "Happy Birthday" buttons for the birthday girls. These are free of charge, and it will be really fun to hear cast members and other guests alike wishing them happy birthdays all day long. Sometimes, these buttons can cause a little extra pixie dust. When my daughter wore one on her 7th birthday, our server at The Plaza Restaurant at Magic Kingdom Park brought her a huge cupcake after lunch! Along the same lines of things you can do for no cost, be sure to indicate on any resort or dining reservations that you make that you are celebrating this special occasion. No special treatment is guaranteed with either a birthday button or note on reservations, so do not expect special treatment, and then it will be even more magical if if does occur.

If you want to spend a little bit of money, you might consider having a cake for the birthday girls. Six-inch cakes in chocolate or vanilla are available at most Walt Disney World table service dining locations. These are quite reasonable in price and do not require any advance notice. Simply mention to the first cast member who you meet at the restaurant that you want one of these cakes and they can arrange it for you. For a little more, you could consider having a custom cake made. To do so, you can call the cake ordering hotline at 407-827-2253. The unofficial site disneyfoodblog.com has good information about ordering custom cakes at Walt Disney World. Simply visit their site and search for "cake" to find information.

Sherri, I am sure that no matter what you decide to do, this day will be special simply because you are celebrating two birthdays on one day at Walt Disney World. Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
