While there's nothing I love more than talking all-things Disney vacation planning, it's even better when I get to chat about one of my favorite places at Walt Disney World Resort –– Top of the World Lounge! After an extended hiatus, I was so excited when Disney Vacation Club announced that the lounge would be opening its doors once again with a
big change. Apparently, a host of fiendish friends were hiding out in the lounge while it was closed, and while they made a hasty retreat once the doors reopened, they left plenty of devilishly delightful items behind. Now, Guests can once again enjoy this incredible space with a whole new twist as it becomes Top of the World Lounge - A Villians Lair!
While
Top of the World Lounge - A Villians Lair is a wickedly wonderful space to enjoy swanky cocktails, great snacks, and a fabulous view of Disney Enchantment each night, there's one important detail you'll need to know –– Top of the World Lounge is an exclusive space that's only available to Disney Vacation Club Members who have access to Membership Extras. Unfortunately, if this doesn't apply to you, you won't be able to access the Lounge, even if you happen to be a Guest of
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. If you do have access to the lounge, you can enter on a first-come basis, until the lounge reaches capacity, beginning at 5:45 PM each day. After that, you'll be able to join the waitlist and you wait for a spot to open up.
The one exception to the first-come rule is for Guests who choose to book the new Wicked Wind Down package, which guarantees you a reserved table in the lounge, along with a cocktail, appetizer, dessert, and a reserved spot for fireworks viewing. Currently, however, this package is only being offered through August 11, 2022. If any dates are added in the future, you'll find that announcement in the "News & Alerts" section of the
Disney Vacation Club website, so be sure to keep an eye on that as your visit approaches. Once more dates are added, eligible DVC Members can book the Wicked Wind Down package by calling Member Services at (800) 800-9800.
If you stop by Top of the World Lounge - A Villians Lair during your upcoming vacation, there are a few things you won't want to miss. When I visited a few weeks ago, the Cosmic (Plant) Power Flatbread was a huge hit for our table. We also really enjoyed The Underworld cocktail, and for a fantastic zero-proof option, The Queen's Garden. The one thing we didn't get to try was the Seven-Lair Cake, but the table next to us ordered it and it looked
incredible –– I can't wait to give it a try during my next visit!
