Hi. We are coming to WDW from October 9th to the 17th. We are bringing my family down (15) with us. We are celebrating my and my wife’s 75th birthdays, and also our 50th wedding anniversary. Is there anything that WDW can do to enhance our celebration?

    Hello David,

Oh boy!  Your whole family of 15 looks set to enjoy an extra magical October vacation to Walt Disney World Resort as part of your celebrations for your joint 75th birthday AND your 50th wedding anniversary - how super excited you all must be!

David, you and your dear wife will be celebrating your 50 yEARs in good company as Walt Disney World Resort also is commemorating its 50th anniversary on October 1st, 2021!  Nobody throws a party quite like Mickey Mouse, and I'm happy to say that The World's Most Magical Celebration will last a whole 18-months long.  Guests will be pixie-dusted with EARidescent touches such as the incredible Disney Enchantment nighttime spectacular at the Magic Kingdom Park with its immersive projection effects that will flow down from Cinderella Castle and onto Main Street, U.S.A.

There are so many ways in which Guests can celebrate their special occasions at Walt Disney World Resort, and of course, no party is ever quite complete without a celebration cake!  I particularly love all the cake offerings at Amorette’s Patisserie at Disney Springs, and I feel sure that if you stop by this tempting bakery you'll be spoilt for a choice of which confections to order for your family!

When my husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Walt Disney World Resort we opted to treat our family to a Speciality Fireworks Cruise where we watched Happily Ever After from Seven Seas Lagoon.  Our private boat came complete with its own Captain, plus lots of delicious snacks and soft drinks for us all to enjoy as we watched the fireworks together.  Specialty Cruises can accommodate up to 10 Guests on a 25-foot boat, so if you should choose this pixie-dusted treat for your family of 15 to enjoy, 2 x boats would be required to accommodate your party.  Boats can be moored next to one another so everyone would be able to enjoy this experience together if you so wish.

And lastly, I highly recommend stopping by almost any Guest Relations location to request some "I'm celebrating" buttons.  Wearers of these cute buttons are often wished "Many happy returns of the day!" by Cast Members and other Guests alike.

All that remains is for me and the whole of planDisney to wish you and your dear wife both a happy birthday and many congratulations on your milestone anniversary! ~ Jane
