We're coming to WDW in Oct. We were hoping to see Wishes from one of the hotels the night we arrive but it isn't scheduled. Can we see Celebrate the Magic from outside the park? Or do you have another suggestion to kick off our Disney vacation?

    Hi NN,

I've got good news for you. Even though Wishes isn't scheduled on October 16, the night of your arrival, there is a Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party that night, which means there will be fireworks that are visible from the Contemporary, Polynesian Village or Grand Floridian resorts or from the boat dock at the Transportation and Ticket Center.

The Happy HalloWishes fireworks are staged at 9:30 p.m. on party nights, so plan accordingly.

Regarding Celebrate the Magic: I really think you need to be inside Magic Kingdom to get the full effect of the projection show.

I hope that helps. If time allows, I would plan dinner in one of the Magic Kingdom area restaurants, even if you just have time for a counter service meal. My family loves to ride the monorail from hotel to hotel, stroll through the shops and get a snack or drink in each. (I'm dying to check out the new Pineapple Lanai at Polynesian Village for a Dole Whip. It just opened this week!)

Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you as your vacation gets closer. I'm happy to help. Enjoy!
