Coming to WDW in Oct with DH,and 2 boys 3 & 6. It will be their 1st visit! I've been before, but never stayed on property. Port of Orleans-Riverside or Caribbean Beach Resort? What one would be better and why? I will have a car. Thanks!!

Having stayed at both of these resorts, Amy, let me first tell you that you can't really go wrong either way.  Both are similar in that they offer great themed pools, expansive food courts, and a plethora of recreational opportunities.  Both are rather sprawling resorts as well; your rooms might not be close to the resort hub.  If it were my decision to make, I'd base it strictly on theme preference since so many of the other amenities are equatable.  While Caribbean Beach Resort does offer a fun tropical, breezy feel, my personal preference is for Port Orleans Riverside.  My family loves the gorgeous wooded grounds and the cozy, down-home charm found there.  We also love the piano man (Yeeha Bob) who puts on a family-friendly show in the resort's lounge on select nights.  My kids love the pool, too.  Like I said though, it's really a matter of preference for theming.  If your family prefers the beach, you might find Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort to be a better fit.  Either way, you're going to have a magical time!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
