    We'll be coming to WDW in mid-Apr. I'll have our 3 kids for several hours a day while DH is at a conference. They are 7,6, & 4. Will this be really hard? What attractions would be best when I'm on my own with them? What should wait for 2 adults? T

    Hi Laura!

    I really don't think this will be hard at all. I have taken my children into the parks at Walt Disney World alone with just me sometimes when other family members were ill, resting, relaxing, etc. My boys are 10 and 5 which is a larger age difference than your kids. I've never had a problem keeping them and me happy!

    However, I did run into a problem a couple of years ago at Disneyland in California. It wasn't that park itself, but that my wife was ill for our very first day there. My oldest son had his heart set on riding Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad the instant he stepped into the park; of course my youngest at the time couldn't do those thrill rides and was more interested in the in Fantasyland. I had to explain to my oldest that we were there on our own and we would have to wait for the thrill rides on another day when everybody was well. I'm sure he thought I was favoring his brother, and he might have felt a little sad, but only for about an hour.  After that he was enjoying the magic and we stayed there a full day.

    Most of the attractions at Walt Disney World can be enjoyed by the whole family. There are only a few thrill rides in each park and they are easy to identify by the height requirement. The only exception to using the height restriction to identify attractions that your 4 year old may not appreciate are some of the 3D movies, Stitch's Great Escape in the MK, and the Haunted Mansion. My son is scared by "It's Tough to be a Bug" in Animal Kingdom, and "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience" in Epcot.The Haunted Mansion itself is not scary, but my 5 year old is apprehensive about anything called "haunted". I've seen other young kids enjoy all of these thing.

    You wrote you will only be alone for several hours each day. Save the thrill rides and some of the 3D movies for when your husband is there with you.  Tell your kids up front what's going to happen and HAVE FUN!
