I am coming to WDW in mid july. I have read it is possible there could be a soft opening of Galaxy Edge at DHS. How can I confirm that or try to get in if there is one?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Eric!

This has certainly been an exciting couple of days for news, hasn't it? We finally got the official word that Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will be opening at Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort on August 29, 2019! On opening day, you'll be able to board one of the most famous ships in the galaxy and take on the First Order on Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, and then cool off at the Milk Stand with some fresh blue or green milk. It's always about the food for me, so you'll find me checking out what Cookie has got for us at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, or trying some exotic meats that have been cooked by a retired smelter droid at Ronto Roasters. Check out this Disney Parks Blog post that shares all the exciting new details so you can start planning your visit!

With all of that to look forward to, I can definitely understand why you'd want to get a sneak peek on your vacation in July. I know some lucky guests got a look at Toy Story Land a few days before it opened, and the same with Pandora - The World of Avatar, but the only way for guests to participate in something like that is to be in the right place at the right time. With all the excitement and build-up to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, I wouldn't be surprised if it was kept under wraps until the very last second to preserve the thrill of the grand opening for everyone, but you never know!

May the Force be with you, Eric!
