Coming to WDW in May 2013 with my 9yr boy. We have previously dined at T Rex, Chef Mickey, Sci Fi, Dessert Party, CRT, Spirit of Aloha, etc. I want a couple suggestions that have a unique/fun atmosphere like these ones.

Lauren, I was thrilled to see this question come up! Fun and unique dining is one of my favorite aspects of going to Walt Disney World. It sounds like you have already experienced some one of a kind places, but the great thing about Walt Disney World is there is always something new and exciting to try.

Some of my favorites that I think will appeal to you and your 9 year old boy are 50s Prime Time Cafe, Coral Reef, Whispering Canyon Cafe and the Biergarten!

50s Prime Time Cafe brings you back to the nostalgic home kitchens of the 1950s where "Mom" serves you her comfort foods like classic meatloaf and mashed potatoes or the yummy peanut butter and jelly milkshake. Just be sure to mind your manners and don't put your elbows on the table!

Coral Reef is one of my kids' faves. They love watching all the fish and while waiting for our food, we like to play our own version of "I spy" for all the different marine life. Every table has a great view and it is a really unique environment.

Whispering Canyon Cafe is a hoot-hollerin', knee-slappin' good time where the food is plentiful and hearty. This restaurant is at Wilderness Lodge, but makes a great stop for lunch to break up the day at Magic Kingdom. To get there, it's just a short boat ride from Magic Kingdom.

My final recommendation is the Biergarten in Germany at Epcot. Our family never does a trip to Walt Disney World without our now traditional meal at this fun and entertaining spot. The buffet is abundant with German favorites such as bratwurst and spaetzle. There is intermittent entertainment by the Bavarian musicians and guests are often spotted on the dance floor enjoying the merriment!

I hope you will consider one or more of these enjoyable dining experiences to make your trip this spring even more magical!
