We are coming to WDW May 28th with my 1 year old son. We are trying to decide whether it's worth bringing a backpack carrier for him along with the stroller. Has anyone used one for a child that age, and did you still bring the stroller?

    Hi Karen,

We've taken "sling"-type and backpack carriers along with strollers.  Basically, we've carted our kids around in everything except a roll-on suitcase!  The backpack carrier worked well when our kids were one and younger.  My husband did the carrying.  We did still bring along a stroller for naps and for when my hubby needed a break. (Plus, a stroller comes in great for carting all the "gear" you tend to carry in with a little guy.) I would definitely recommend bringing a stroller as well.   My sons really enjoyed being up high and having a "bird's eye" view of Disney, however, they didn't want to spend the entire time in the carrier, and quickly let us know.  I know some carriers come with canopies, but if yours does not, I'd invest in a good hat and a lot of sunscreen for your son.

Another thought, I would bring a carrier only if your son already uses one and likes it.  I think it's a big investment to find out that he hates it once you are down in Florida!

Have a magical trip with your little pirate in training!
