Hi Stefanie,
May is one of my favorite times to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. I find it an ideal time of year; relatively low crowds, near perfect weather, and of course, it coincides with the long-standing and ever-popular
Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. This special event sees Epcot transformed into a garden fantasyland with dazzling topiaries and stunning flower and garden displays. Outdoor Kitchens take up residence throughout World Showcase, offering a smorgasbord of tasty food to sample, and both experienced and aspiring gardeners can participate in various gardening seminars and demonstrations. If that wasn’t enough, you can cap off the day taking in an outdoor concert with the Garden Rocks Concert Series.
The Flower & Garden Festival website currently lists two tours; Gardens of the World or Behind the Seeds. Gardens of the World is a 3 hour seasonal tour which provides Guests a detailed look at the horticultural side of Epcot and the meticulous effort which goes into maintaining park landscaping.
Behind the Seeds is a year-round 45 minute walking tour taking Guests behind the scenes of the Living with the Land attraction to explore in greater depth the greenhouses, fish farms and plants located in the Land Pavilion. Either of these tours can be booked now by calling Disney Tour Reservations at (407) WDW-TOUR (939-8687).
Unfortunately, at this time specific information about other tours, seminars and classes which may be offered during the Festival has not yet been released. Keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for more information, or feel free to call Disney’s Tour Reservations line at (407) WDW-TOUR (939-8687). I expect this information should be available soon.
