Coming to WDW in March or April. We really want to stay at a resort that has monorail or boat right to the park. Which resorts have this option? Any that won't break the bank? Also, any advice on whether March or April is better?

    Hi Kristie,

Thanks for sending in this question to the Moms Panel!  The Walt Disney World has 4 major theme parks and 2 water parks.  I'm not exactly sure which park you are referring to, but going to assume you mean the Magic Kingdom as that is the crown jewel of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Unfortunately, all of the resort hotels near the Magic Kingdom (MK), so called MK Resorts, are Disney Deluxe Resorts.  Of the four, the least expensive is usually the Wilderness Lodge.  It is not on the monorail line but there is fast boat service between the lodge and the MK.

If you are trying to save money, I suggest staying in a Disney Value or Moderate resort.  They will all offer bus service to the Magic Kingdom and the other parks (and other locations at Walt Disney World as well).  My favorite Value resort is Pop Century and my favorite Moderate resort is Port Orleans Riverside.

Based on my experience of visiting many times in March and April, I believe that March will be relatively busy the entire month.  The first two weeks of April will be extremely busy this year because of Easter.  The last week of April will be the least crowded.

    Have a magical vacation!
