Coming to WDW for the '12 marathon. Hub and two foster children (4,5) are first-timers. Where should we stay for ease for all? One thought are the cabins in Fort Wilderness but not sure if it would be too cold in Jan? Thanks!

The Fort Wilderness cabins make for a lovely temporary home, Kelley.  I, personally, was a big fan of being set apart from the hustle and bustle during our stay there.  And while the cabins are, technically, located in Walt Disney World's "wilderness," they're not primitive; there is heat (and blankets)!  In fact, the cabins reminded me of a cozy little getaway in the woods.  An added bonus?  If you do find yourself with a chill, you could always make a mug of steaming hot chocolate (assuming you pack some cocoa packets!) right there in your own cabin kitchen!  I wouldn't let temperature worries sway me from a stay at the cabins.  Enjoy your trip!
