Coming to WDW 6/14-6/22/13. We loved staying onsite but in order to afford this trip we will be staying offsite for the first time to save $.Any ideas for coming to WDW on a budget while staying offsite? We will have our own car & know we will pay prkg.

    Hi Kristi!
Saving on a Disney vacation takes a little planning, but you can have a wonderful time on any budget. You didn't mention if any children are traveling, but I will add some tips just in case.
A big expense is park tickets,Undercovertourist.com has great deals with tax included and AAA also a good source. Some employers even offer tickets, so be sure to check with them. Please purchase from a reputable vendor, there are scams out there.Food is also a big expense on a Disney vacation. I recommend stopping at a local grocery store, picking up bottled water, snacks, and breakfast items this will save you a bundle.Food is allowed in the parks (no straws in Animal Kingdom) so I pack snacks and water each day.I also freeze water bottles, so the water will stay cool on hot days. When dining in Disney restaurants, book a late breakfast.Breakfast is usually the least expensive meal, but by snagging the last breakfast reservation you can have lunch for a lot less. Meals at Disney are huge so I suggest splitting a meal between two people or instead of a meal order a la carte.Souvenirs are also a budget buster so visit the outlet stores, there are several with merchandise from the parks. Tinkerbell always leaves surprises for my children at night, weeks leading up to our trip I stock up on some Disney goodies at a dollar store and they love waking up to their surprise. Check out the charm bracelets with charms that are under $6.  My daughter buys one charm every time we go and wears her memories everyday!I would be thrilled to answer any more of your questions!
