Coming to WDW 12/18-22/11 w/ 4 kids (7,4 & 1.5YO twins). I'm staying at CR w/ park hoppers. I'd love any advice on how to hit the parks to minimize the waits. Also, not doing Fantasmic dinner pkg- do we all have to wait the whole 1-2hrs prior to seat

    Hi Debbie!

I recommend a good touring plan designed to minimize waiting in lines.  The best touring plans that do that are produced by the research team behind "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World".  They have a website at TouringPlans.com.  You will need a subscription, but it isn't much in my opinion.  Their recommendations are based on a lot of math and years of data collection.  As an engineer, I'm a huge fan of their work.

With regards to Fantasmic!, I think it will depend on whether Fantasmic! will be running every night while you are there.  If it's running every night, then I think showing up about 45 minutes before is good enough.  However, if it's not running every night, then 90 minutes is probably really necessary.  At the moment, Disney is running Fantasmic! nightly which is change in policy from the last couple of years, but it is not known if that will continue throughout the rest of the year.
