Hi, We are coming to WDW 6/16-6/23 for our honeymoon/our ds4 first trip. He is a big Star Wars fan and I would love to get him into the Star Wars Training Academy. How exactly do they pick the children to be in the shows and how exactly does it all work?

Hi Jessica!  Thanks for coming to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

The Star Wars: Jedi Training Academy is such an amazing experience for young Padawans.  My son was excited to be able to take part in a lightsaber duel with Darth Vader himself.

If this activity is a must for you, then I urge you to follow this plan....Sign ups take place at the ABC Sound Studio in Disney's Hollywood Studios.  Sign ups happen as soon as the park opens, and spots fill up for the entire day very quickly.  It is possible that all spots could even be filled before noon.  My suggestion is to arrive at the park about a half hour before opening time.  Usually, the turnstiles open a bit before posted opening times.  Once inside the park, walk briskly to the sign up location.  Your son must be with you at the ABC Sound Studio in order to sign him up.   Make sure you grab a Times Guide upon arrival at the park so you can view performance times on the day of your visit.

Good luck, and "May the force be with you."

I wish you a MAGICAL vacation, Jessica!
