Hi Moms! Coming to WDW in early Dec. and have MVMCP tix. I heard that the 2nd parade showing is usually less crowded, but could you tell me the best place to reserve our patch of concrete and what time to start marking our "territory"? Thanx, you

    Hi Beth,

I love that it is early October with Halloween still a couple of weeks away and you and I are already making our itinerary for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!  Your question really stood out to me because I am also making plans for the party for my own vacation.

Just thinking about experiencing Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade makes me melt a little inside.  My absolute favorite viewing spot for it is anywhere on Main Street.  Spoiler Alert:  If you view the parade from Main Street you will experience it "snowing" in Florida.  Combine this with Cinderella Castle resplendent in her icicle-lighted glory in the backdrop and you have the recipe to make me choke up every time.

You are correct the second parade is usually much less crowded, and I can testify to this because I like to attend them both each time I attend the party!  Since you are visiting during early December which is less crowded than Christmas week, you should plan on arriving to your parade viewing 30-60 minutes prior to the start of the parade.  I personally like to get some of the complimentary hot cocoa and cookies before staking out my concrete homestead.  It's a perfect time to snack and snuggle with your loved ones.

Thank you for your question Beth!  Please come back and visit us again with any more Disney vacation planning questions.  We are always here to help!

    Happy Holiday Wishes!!
