Hi Moms, Coming to WDW early Dec 2012 and want to take my DD4 to the BBB early in the day, about noon, while we are at the MK then have dinner at CRT that evening, around 6. Is this a realistic plan or being in costume all day be to much. Thank you

    Hi there, Amanda!

December in Florida is beautiful - not too cold, not humid and stifling. The weather is not exactly "brisk," butit is manageable. And the chances for rain are fairly low. Weather, then, should not be a major consideration.

Six hours isn't too long of a time to have her in costume, certainly (but please make sure her footwear is comfortable for walking - and occasionally running and jumping for joy!). The time limit largely depends on your daughter's personality and threshold for dress-up.

The costumes can certainly be a little more challenging for little ones to "live in" for a day. You can consider putting her in something with a bit more freedom of movement that reflects the colors of her favorite Princess (a yellow sweater and jeans for Belle, say, or a pink blouse for Aurora). Do remember that you'll have to work with a pretty elaborate updo, so choose something that you can easily get over her head if you go that route.

Saving the costume until later in the day will also remove the possibility of staining. The chocolate on the Mickey ice cream bar, for example, can be its own deliciously messy treat (trust me on this one!).

Ultimately, I think the decision rests with your own little one. With the right temperament. she could easily handle the dress for the afternoon; loads of little girls do. But if the "dress stress" and worry about stains, complaints, and so on might affect your family trip, save it till later and enjoy the magic of the Kingdom without the stress of the dress.

    Have a wonderful trip!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
