We are coming to WDW Aug'10. We would like to schedule at least one, maybe more, character meal. Some spots say call 180 days in advance, some say 90 days. Which is correct? What are our chances if we can't call on that day or early in the morning?

Hello Sarah!  I can understand your confusion!  Currently, you can book your dining reservations 90 days prior to your check-in date.  However, effective October 27, 2009, this window will expand to 180 days.  So for your vacation, you'll be looking at a 180 day window which would be April 4, 2010 if you were checking in on 10/1 (adjust the dates accordingly).

Obviously the sooner you book your reservations the better chances you'll have at getting what you want.  I do know when the reservation system was previously 180 days, I rarely had a problem getting the reservations I wanted (and I didn't necessarily call at the 180 day mark).  And in case you don't know, you can now book your dining reservations online.
