We are coming to WDW on Aug 15-22 for my duaghters 5th Birthday. We are bringing a total of 12 ppl with us and we have dinner eservations for her birthday at Cinderella's Royal Table. What cake would you suggest for that many ppl?

    Lakeisha:

I have tasted all three of the cakes shown here on Disney's birthday celebration page.  Each has its pros:

    • The plain chocolate and white chocolate cakes are what I call "spur-of-the-moment" cakes (you know, when you've forgotten a birthday!).  In June, 8 of us split it with no problem.  But, hey, you're planning ahead!  Let's move on!
    • Rolled fondant tops the Cinderella Cake--beautiful, but not as tasty as....
    • The Mickey Head cake.  I would think either this or the Cinderella Cake would serve your group.

With all that said though, it sounds like your birthday celebration is quite a shindig.  You might want to consider calling the Disney cake line at (407) 827-2253 and ordering a custom cake.  You can choose from cake flavors, fillings, and icing--not to mention the decoration on top.  They also give you a choice of sheet or round cake.  Give them your budget and they can walk you through it step-by-step.

FYI: Although the website says give Disney 48 hours to order, when I called to ask about my son's birthday cake, they said make sure and order "3 days" in advance....With your date coming up in a week or so, keep that in mind.

    Wishing y'all a magical birthday!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
