We are coming to WDW in April with three young children (2,5,8) and planning to take mid-day breaks at our hotel (Caribbean Beach Resort) from theme park visits. Will the waits be too long if we use Disney transportation and should we rent a car instead?

Hi Sandy - I have two young children, and have stayed at moderate resorts before, using only Disney transportation.  While the wait may be long, keep in mind that when you drive, you often have to take a tram from your car to the front entrance of the park.  When you visit the Magic Kingdom, you have to park at the ticket and transportation center, where you have to take a boat or a monorail to the front entrance of the park (the bus drops you off right at the front entrance, bypassing the ticket and transportation center).  That adds to the total transportation time.

Whether or not you choose to rent a car really depends on how much you want to be in control of your schedule.  But, it's definitely possible to use the buses even with nap breaks.

    Have a great vacation!
