Hi, there!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Larry. We're always glad when you stop by!
It's practically a holiday in my house when my family is 180 days out from our Walt Disney World Resort vacations - this mama LOVES making dining reservations. I'm happy to share my best reservation strategies with you so you're prepared when that magical "window" opens up!
First, decide what restaurants you'd like to visit on each day of your stay. Guests of Disney Resort hotels can make up to 10 days worth of dining reservations, but the reservations don't have to be made in order from the first day of your stay until the last; rather, you can make them in any order that you wish. For that reason, try to book any hard-to-get dining reservations first, even if you're visiting those restaurants at the end of your vacation.
Character Dining Experiences and popular dining locations like
Be Our Guest Restaurant book quickly, so put those types of restaurants at the top of your reservation priority list. The night before my 180 day window opens, I open an internet browser on my computer and put each restaurant I'm hoping to book on a different tab. Then, cup of coffee in hand, I refresh those tabs around 5:45 AM in the morning so they're ready to go at 6:00 AM when I can officially begin making my dining reservations. I'm usually able to book all my dining reservations by 6:15 AM!
If the system hiccups or I can't get a reservation I was hoping for, I call (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 to speak with a Cast Member at the Disney Reservation Center the moment the phone lines open up at 7:00 AM.
I hope these strategies work for you, Larry. Please visit us again soon with any new questions you have!
