We are coming to Walt Disney World in January for marathon weekend. Is there any benefit to staying on the monrail line vs. staying at another deluxe or moderate priced resort?

    Hi Amy!

The only benefit of staying on the monorail would be for visiting theme parks.  Specifically, Magic Kingdom, since the monorail takes you straight there. It will also take you to Epcot, after a monorail switch at the Ticket and Transportation Center.

There will be buses available to ALL of the resorts.  You would need to take a bus to all of the race activities anyway, if you stayed at a monorail resort.

I usually stay at an Epcot-area resort simply because Epcot is my family's favorite park and we like being able to walk into it.  One advantage of staying there is that after the race (which ends in the Epcot parking lot) we can walk back to our room.  (You do have to have admission tickets to Epcot to do this as you will walk through the park to the back exit)

But, if you are wanting to save some money by staying at a moderate or value, then you really won't be missing out on any race conveniences.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
