We are coming for 1st visit in May, there are a couple rides I don't want to ride, but want to stay in line with DH and children. Will I be able to? What do I do when they get on the ride? Thanks for all your help, I love the panel!!!

    Hi Jolene:

No worries. No one will make you ride on any ride, so feel free to wait on line with your family. It will be great to be able to spend the time with your family, and many of Disney ride queues are wonderfully-themed. Disney rides have what is affectionately and unofficially known as "chicken" exits. When you approach the end of the queue, tell the Cast Member that you would like to exit the ride without riding. The Cast Member will point you to the exit door. You can then wait for your family at the ride exit. Of course, if you are like me and succumb to peer pressure easily, you may end up riding one or two of these rides with your family. But the choice is yours.

Since it's your first visit, don't forget to stop by City Hall in the Magic Kingdom or at guest services at the other parks and pick up a "1st Visit" button. You'll probably notice that wearing the buttons will prompt many Cast Members to go out of their way to greet you with a kind gesture to make your visit more memorable

    Enjoy your vacation.
