Hi there! We are coming for our 2nd trip this fall. My girls are SO into Beauty and the Beast, but I heard the "Be Our Guest" dinner has a rather unusual menu, and is not a character meal? Could you tell me a bit more about it?

Hi Laura!  Thank you for your question.  The Be Our Guest Restaurant at Disney's Magic Kingdom is a very popular and special dining venue.  You will literally feel as if you've stepped into the animated movie as you enter Beast's Castle and dine in one of 3 different dining rooms - The West Wing, The Library or the Ball Room.  I would not consider their menu to be unusual.  It is definitely French-themed, and leans towards finer dining, but I think if you take a look at the Be Our Guest menus, you will see that there are some old stand-bys, like steak or salmon or pork, but prepared in a french-style.  While the kids menu does not offer chicken fingers or hot dogs, there is pasta, chicken and steak, which should appeal to most kids.  Their desserts are fabulous!  Honestly, I think that anyone I've talked to, myself included, greatly enjoyed their meals at Be Our Guest.

Be Our Guest Restaurant is not a character dining venue, as the ambiance of eating in Beast's Castle is really quite intriguing in itself.  However, although not advertised, and not guaranteed, Beast can usually be found in his Study for brief photo opportunities after you have dined.  PhotoPass photographers are also on hand.

Laura, if you are considering dinner at Be Our Guest Restaurant, due to it's popularity you will absolutely need to make your reservation on the 180 day mark prior to your arrival at a Walt Disney World resort. You can do this online at Disney Dining Reservations or by calling 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463).

Please let me know, Laura, if I can help you with any other questions you have while planning your Walt Disney World vacation.  I would be happy to help you!  Have a magical day.
