Coming for the 1st time in late July for son's 7th b-day and he loves pirates. Where would be a great character dining w/ pirates or no characters and just pirates? MK on his b-day and still want to be back @ MK for parade and fireworks. 10 y/o sis w/us.

    Hi Amy --

Your son must be so excited to spend his birthday at Walt Disney World!  Your family will certainly make many magical memories.

Unfortunately, there are no character dining opportunities that feature pirates at this time.  There are, however, several fun activities for pirate lovers of all ages:
    • ride Pirates of the Caribbean at the Magic Kingdom
    • get him a cake - Mini Surprise Cakes in a Pirates Treasure Chest are available at character dining and buffet locations.  You can also order a custom made cake by calling (407)827-2253.
    • send him on a Pirate Cruise - there are several pirate cruises that set sail from a variety of resorts.  Children don pirate hats, search for treasure and have lunch before returning home.  Call (407)939-7529 for more information.
    • Attend the Pirate Tutorial at the Magic Kingdom and learn the fine art of being a swashbuckler.  Check your park guide for times.
    • Caribbean Beach Resort has newly themed pirate rooms.

If you have a car, Pirate's Dinner Adventure is located in Orlando.  Check www.piratesdinneradventure.com for more information.  I have never eaten there, myself, but it looks like the type of experience a pirate lover might enjoy.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
