Hi -- we are coming Thurs August 14 - Thurs August 21 with kids ages 12, 10, 5. We have never come in the Summer. Which do you think will be our biggest challenge -- crowds or heat? And, what is your #1 tip for tackling each of those? Thx

    Hello Eileen,

I love your question, first of all, no matter if you visit Walt Disney World in the Fall, Winter, Spring or Summer it will always be magical and memorable but I understand wanting some good advice when visiting during a more popular time.

My number #1 tip for the heat, and I am assuming you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, is always factor in pool time or relaxation time back at your home resort. The Florida sun can take a toll on everyone and taking a break will rejuvenate everyone. If you don't feel like heading back to the resort then consider making lunch your big meal for the day and enjoy a nice table service dining experience. Your family can cool off in some well deserved air conditioning and be ready to tackle the rest of the day.

As for the crowds, my #1 tip, thanks to FastPass+, is take advantage of making FastPass+ reservations. This wonderful addition allows families to spend more time enjoying the parks and less time waiting in lines. Sit down with your family, 60 days prior to check-in, if your are staying at a Walt Disney World resort, or 30 days prior if staying offsite, and have fun reserving and talking about what you as a family would like to do on you upcoming visit.

Thank you for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel and if I can be of any further pixie dusted assistance feel free to ask.

I am a Dreamer who has always believed dreams are meant to be the path to your future. Walt Disney, I believe, felt the same way, "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." Disney has always been proof that endless imagination and the passion to make them come to fruition is possible. I will never be to old for Disney, it is home to all of us Dreamers.
