Hiya Kelly and welcome to planDisney. Not every Guest needs to move like Dash Parr from Disney•Pixars's The Incredibles to get around Walt Disney World Resort.
Disney's complimentary Resort Transportation will get you where you need to go but knowing your options is always the best.
For an itinerary, I like to group theme parks. I spend the first two days hopping between two theme parks: one day is Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT and the other is Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The third and fourth days are based on which attractions I missed or want to do again and whether I secured a
Virtual Queue boarding pass on both the first and second day.
Since you are at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort you can catch the
Disney Skyliner to/from EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios and buses to Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Depending on which building your room is located in will determine how far a walk it is to the Resort bus depot, the RideShare pickup (another option and usually the fastest but is an additional expense), and the Disney Skyliner. My advice: book a preferred room near the Skyliner and bus depot and also bus in the morning to whichever theme park does not have a Disney Skyliner terminal nearby and then bus transfer to the second theme park later when you hop. When you are done in the evening take the Disney Skyliner back to your Resort home as it will be more comfortable. The Disney Skyliner is under refurbishment from January 16 through January 27, 2024, on certain routes. You should be able to avoid this issue.
The only exception to my own rule is when I want to see Happily Ever After where I catch a bus to and from Magic Kingdom Park.
planDisney Pro Tip: You need to budget transportation time. Even though the
My Disney Experience App gives you estimated travel times between any two locations it can be off for numerous reasons. I recommend scheduling at least 60 minutes of travel time (Disney recommends 90 minutes) when taking the
Walt Disney World Bus Service. This is important because it takes time to get from place to place. There is no walking across an Esplanade to get to the next theme park. Our West Coast Disneyland Resort regulars are always surprised at this fact as well as the 189-foot-tall Cinderella Castle and that Walt Disney World Resort is 27,520 acres. As a comparison, Disneyland Resort sits on 500 acres and Sleeping Beauty Castle is 77 feet.
Kelly, I hope this information helps you and your husband spend the least amount of time as your slower pace yields seeing the most details. Please feel free to
write me back directly with any follow-up questions. Have a great time later this month!
Enjoy making many Magical Memories.
