Coming and staying at AKL in 10 days - can I request a microwave to warm my daughter's milk? If not, do you have any suggestions for what to do? Thanks so much to all of you on the panel!

    Hi, Suzanne!

I just called Animal Kingdom Lodge to double check.  They do NOT have microwaves available for guest rooms (unless you are staying in the Villas that have kitchens.)

However, there are microwaves at The Mara (food court) that you are  welcome to use.   You might even want to send a fax to ROOM ASSIGNMENTS (407-938-4799) and ask for a room near the food court so you have easier access when it is time to warm up bottles.

When my kids were little, I would run the bottles under hot water (not ideal, but worked in a pinch!)  I know you can also buy bottle warmers for around $25 that you could pack in your suitcase.

While you are in the parks, feel free to stop by the Baby Care Centers for heating bottles and also diaper changes.

The good news is that in a few years the warm milk stuff will be all done and all each kid needs is a refillable mug!   Enjoy your stay at the beautiful Animal Kingdom Lodge!   If you have any other questions, just let us know!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
