Coming 5-16 to 21. Want to spend time at Ft Wilderness. Pony rides, petting zoo, wagon ride, campfire, and Trails End food to go - picnic on the beach. Is there a lot of walking involved or what transp. is available. WE will have a car! Thks bunches!I

    Jacalyn:

Almost everything you described is in one centralized area near Pioneer Hall, except for the campfire singalong, so compared to the theme parks, we're talking minimal walking.

My suggestion is to drive to Fort Wilderness where you'll park in overflow parking (for non-resort guests). From there, head to the bus stop and take the Orange Line bus to Pioneer Hall. While the bus heads down the main thoroughfare, notice the Meadows Trading Post on your right and take note of how far it is from your final destination: Pioneer Hall and its bus stop.  The campfire pavilion is behind the Meadows toward the left. You can determine whether you feel you can walk back for the campfire from Pioneer Hall or take the bus.

After you enjoy your picnic and pony rides, you can either walk to the campfire along the same road or take the bus, stopping at the Meadows stop. After the campfire, catch another bus back to the Outpost to get your car.

Wishing y'all a magical time at the fort!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
