We are coming for my son's first birthday in Magic Kingdom. Can we bring our own balloon into the park? We are having a capture the moment photo shoot for his birthday and wanted to incorporate a number one balloon and hang it on his stroller

    Hiya, Meaghan! Welcome to planDisney!

First things first. A very happy early birthday to your kiddo! What a wonderful way to celebrate their big first birthday than a trip to Walt Disney World! Now let’s get you the information you need for your special upcoming vacation.

I checked the Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules prohibited items list and talked with a friendly Cast Member, and it should be fine for you to bring your own balloon into the Magic Kingdom for your Capture Your Moment photoshoot. The prohibited items list does say that balloons are not allowed at Animal Kingdom, Animal Kingdom Lodge, water parks, and ESPN Wide World of Sports, but it doesn’t include any language about balloons purchased on or off-property. The Cast Member I spoke with did mention that theme park security reserves the right to prohibit items not included on the list, but that single balloon would likely be fine.

As you put the final touches on your magical vacation with your soon-to-be 1-year-old, make sure you take advantage of the great attraction search filters available on the My Disney Experience mobile app and website. Not only can you search attractions by age and park, but you can also filter the results by attraction type, height, and interests. I’ve always found this to be a huge help when planning my Walt Disney World adventures with little ones. And don’t forget to pick up your complimentary birthday button from Guest Services when you arrive at the Magic Kingdom. It will make a great addition to your photo shoot!

Meaghan, I hope this information was helpful and that you have the most amazing Walt Disney World vacation. Pop right back if you have any other questions. You’re as welcome as can be at planDisney!

    Magical travels!
