    We are coming in Sept and were there in Feb 08. Stayed at POFQ last time but will be at AS Sports. What differences should I expect? Is it easy to get to Downtown Disney-we loved spending some time there before. Thanks for all the help!! I read everyday!

    Hi, Laura!   Port Orleans French Quarter (Moderate Resort) and All-Star Sports (Value Resort) are both fun resorts that my family has stayed at several times.   They each offer a unique theme and friendly atmosphere. 

    The All-Star Resort rooms are smaller than the rooms at Port Orleans, measuring 260 square feet vs. 314 square feet.   Another room difference at the All-Star is 1 sink for the bathroom (2 sinks at Port Orleans.)   Also, a refrigerator is included with your room at a Moderate Resort, where there is a fee if you want to rent a refrigerator at a Value Resort.  

    There are about 1,900 rooms at the All-Star, about double the amount of rooms at Port Orleans French Quarter, so you might notice more activity and noise at the All-Star (I like to look at it as being Family Friendly, and my 2 kids fit right into the fun!)

    Since you like Downtown Disney, the biggest thing you will probably miss is the boat transportation from POFQ.  Don't worry though, there is bus service from your resort that will get you to Downtown Disney quite efficiently!

    Overall, while there are some differences between the 2 levels of properties, you still get that wonderful Disney magic wherever you stay.   I hope you enjoy your stay and are happy with your resort choice.
