We're coming in Sep for a week (self, hubby, 2 kids). I can't get excited about AK. We go to our local zoo a lot. And, my kids are too small for many of the rides. But, I've never been there and don't want to miss out if it's as magical as the other parks.

    Oh, Angela!

When I first heard about the Animal Kingdom it was 3 years before it opened and I said, "Ew. A ZOO at Disney World? NO!" I am not a big fan of animals. I'm not even really a zoo person. I was NOT excited.

Three years later, my husband and I were on our Honeymoon and we went to Animal Kingdom and I LOVED IT! It is honestly my favorite park and I recommend it to everyone as their 2nd park (after Magic Kingdom!).

    Here's why:

    1. The ambiance. This park is overflowing with vegetation. You won't feel like you are walking cage to cage to see an animal, you will be exploring a jungle! The different lands--Africa, Asia, Camp Minnie-Mickey, etc are themed and feel as if you are actually there. It literally feels wild in there!

    2. The shows. I honestly think the shows here are better than any other park--The Festival of the Lion King puts tears in my eyes every single time, the Nemo Musical is an amazing stage show of puppets, actors and live music and Its Tough To Be A Bug (although, a 3D movie, not a show) is so fun! Oh, and the parade is one my faves, too!

    3. The animals.  There are 2 trails to walk through and see animals. Like I said, it's not cage to cage. It literally is a trek or a trail. But the BEST animal interaction is on the Safari! You really get up close and personal, see the animals in a (more) natural environment. (Try to get there first thing in the morning to see the most awake animals!)

And even if your kids are too short for rides like Dinosaur & Everest, you can use the Rider Swap if you and your husband want to do the ride!

My kids are 2 and 5. We did Animal Kingdom two days on our last vacation because we loved it so much! I really hope you go because I know you'll love it!
