We are coming to Saratoga Springs in March and staying in the grandstand. Did they renovate the rooms and is that the first bus stop for the parks thank you.

Hi Deborah and welcome to planDisney! Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa holds a special place in my heart. It’s our family’s first Disney Vacation Club Home Resort and where we spent our Welcome Home stay to celebrate my eldest daughter’s first birthday. I still have fond memories of seeing her crawling around the room and playing with the Mickey and Minnie plush her grandparents bought for her. Now let’s get to your answers so you can start making magical memories with your family!

Deborah, you’ll be happy to know that the rooms at Saratoga Springs were renovated a couple years back. Gone are the carpets and outdated tiles and in its place you’ll find wood flooring throughout and a modern touch on the kitchens and bathrooms. You’ll also find the pull-down Murphy beds instead of a pull-out sofabed. You can take a look at some photos of the various rooms at the resort here.

As for buses heading to the theme parks, you’re correct that the Grandstand area of the resort is the first bus stop. If you’re curious, the order of the bus stops at Saratoga Springs to the theme parks is the following: The Grandstand, The Carousel, The Paddock, Congress Park, and The Springs. For buses that go to Disney Springs, the order is typically reversed. But don’t forget you can also take the Sassagoula River Cruise boats to Disney Springs, which drops you off just outside of the Marketplace area of Disney Springs.

Deborah here’s a bonus tip! Did you know that the My Disney Experience app displays arrival times of buses headed to the theme parks and Disney Springs for the various bus stops within the resort? This is a feature exclusive to guests of the resort. As long as your Resort hotel reservation is linked to the app, you should be able to view bus arrival times. In order to view the bus times, select your Resort reservation within the app. Below the picture of the resort there will be a section that reads “See Bus Times”. Once selected, you should see the bus times for the various bus stops at Saratoga Springs. This is a super helpful feature for my family to let us know if we can take a leisurely stroll to the bus stop or if we need to channel our inner Dash from The Incredibles to catch the bus!

Deborah, I hope you find this information helpful as you plan for your upcoming trip. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
