We will be coming to Orlando and staying at a resort near the Bonnet Creek area. We are not planning on visiting a park. What is the best way to go on the Skyliner during the middle of the day?

    Hi Terri,

Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you stopped by to ask about enjoying some non-park fun at Walt Disney World Resort. Even without stepping into the parks, there are countless ways to make your time in Orlando unforgettable. For example, you can cool off at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon or Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Parks, shop and dine at Disney Springs, or embark on an afternoon of Resort Hopping to explore the unique offerings and atmospheres of the Disney Resorts Collection hotels. Each resort has its own distinctive charm, making it a fun way to discover your next favorite Disney stay.

To enjoy the Disney Skyliner during the middle of the day, I recommend starting your journey at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The easiest way to get there from your resort near Bonnet Creek would likely be a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft. From Hollywood Studios, you’ll find yourself at the perfect central hub to begin your Skyliner experience.

Resort Hopping is one of my favorite non-park activities. I love grabbing a coffee, snack, or cocktail at different resorts while exploring their unique amenities. A great first stop would be Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, where Banana Cabana Pool Bar offers a relaxed vibe and delicious refreshments. Try the Piña Colada or Kraken Punch. Both are delicious!

After enjoying Caribbean Beach, take the Skyliner to EPCOT’s International Gateway. From there, you’ll be just steps away from Disney’s BoardWalk area, which has plenty of things to do. Spend time strolling around Disney’s BoardWalk, visiting Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. These areas are ideal for taking in beautiful waterfront views, enjoying unique dining and shopping experiences, and, if you stay into the evening, participating in classic boardwalk games or live entertainment at places like Atlantic Dance Hall or Jellyrolls.

Thank you for stopping by planDisney, Terri! If you have more questions about how to make the most of your time near Walt Disney World Resort, feel free to reach out. I’d be happy to help you plan more ways to enjoy your non-park days.

    Cheers,
    Brent
