Hi, coming to Orlando in Oct. I am looking to propose to my gf and its her birthday while there. I'm stuck on which hotel to go to, I'm torn between Port Orleans(Riverside) or Wilderness Lodge - any advice or help will be great as want it romantic

    Hi Paul,

Congratulations! I'm sure you will have a special time no matter which hotel you choose.

My personal preference would be the Wilderness Lodge. I enjoy Port Orleans (both the Riverside and French Quarter sections), but Wilderness Lodge feels more secluded and romantic.

One of our favorite special occasion restaurants, Artist Point, is at the Wilderness Lodge. The buffalo strip steak there is my favorite entree in all of Walt Disney World. We also love to take a break for a drink in the intimate Territory Lounge.

Another plus for Wilderness Lodge is how convenient it is to the Magic Kingdom and to two of our other favorite special occasion restaurants: the California Grill on top of the Contemporary resort and Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian. Water taxis run between Wilderness Lodge and the Magic Kingdom every few minutes. It's an easy, short connection then to the Contemporary, Polynesian or Grand Floridian.

Enjoy planning this memorable visit, and please let me know if I can be of additional help in any way.
