Hi Megan,
Welcome to
planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with a question about your upcoming trip. You must be getting excited about seeing the countdown get closer to zero - it’ll be here before you know it!
I have good news for you: yes, you can leave and re-entry the theme parks as much as you want during the day (subject to park capacity). On my family’s recent trip to Disney World, we did just that. We opted to rope drop and arrive at the theme park well before it opened and then left mid-day when everyone wanted to take a break and reset. We returned to the parks around dinner and then enjoyed the park until closing.
Did you know that Disney has resources for Guests with sensory needs? I highly recommend heading over to the Walt Disney World website and checking out the
Sensory Experience Details. Every attraction is listed with any sensory elements that can affect Guests. There are 11 categories of sensory elements ranging from scents, lighting effects and loud noises to bumpy, periods of darkness and element of surprise. It is a very useful tool to assist and Guests with sensory needs.
Since you’re staying onsite, be sure to take a peek at transportation before you arrive in Orlando. Depending on where you are staying, you might be able to take a ferry or even the Skyliner to travel to theme parks. If you feel more comfortable mapping out the route beforehand, head over to the
My Disney Experience and click on the search icon at the bottom right of the screen. Once you enter your current location and your desired destination, you’ll be able to see your route including the amount of time it can take.
I hope this information is helpful to your vacation planning, Megan. Have a wonderful visit and don’t forget to snap photos of all of the characters you spot!
Adventure is out there,
Candace
