Hi, Robert!
Great plan!
While we loved our very first stay at Walt Disney World (we had a beautiful lake view at Disney's Polynesian Resort), it's fun to change it up a bit; we sample other resorts frequently, too.
We love Bay Lake Tower at
Disney's Contemporary Resort. A stay at the Contemporary puts you right next door to Magic Kingdom. It's easy to take the monorail and Guests have the option of an easy walk to MK too. You'll still have monorail access to dining in and around the other monorail-accessible resorts as well.
On the other hand, I absolutely love
Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Here, you'll feel as if you've been swept away to a Pacific Northwest retreat; it's really quiet and secluded, both rustic and elegant at the same time. You'll love the ambiance and carefully-selected details tucked into every corner, and the convenience of traveling to Magic Kingdom by boat is surprisingly relaxing, too! (Can't wait to book our next trip THERE, so that my family can enjoy this great resort as well.)
With a party your size, consider looking at a 2-Bedroom Disney Vacation Club Villa at either Bay Lake Tower or The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Both of these will afford you a full kitchen as well as in-room washer and dryer, plus living space. These villas are a real home away from home!
Of course,
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is a genteel gem, one that is a Guest favorite, to be sure. Upscale and family-friendly dining options (as well as spa treatments) top off the amenities which set this resort apart from the others. Can't go wrong here, either!
Send more questions about each of these resorts, Robert; I love to help!
