We are coming in October to celebrate my grandson's 5th birthday. We are having a birthday breakfast at Chef Mickey's at 7:30am. My ? is - do you have any suggestions besides a cake to celebrate his birthday that early in the morning using a candle? Ann

    Hi Ann,

I don't know if you are aware of this or not, but if you are just looking to surprise your grandson with a birthday candle then he will be surprised with a cupcake (including a candle) towards the end of your breakfast during the birthday celebration song that the characters will put on for everyone celebrating a birthday at Chef Mickey's!  You must mention to the cast members at the podium when you check-in for your reservation that he will be celebrating his birthday (make sure he gets his birthday button!) and he will also receive a special placemat (which will have the signatures on it of the characters who are there).  These "special" surprises are complimentary and he will even be able to keep the placemat and take it home with him as a souvenir (my daughter still has hers from when she turned 3 there...very special!).  Make sure he wears his birthday button during the trip wherever you go so he may get special greetings (and maybe even special surprises along the way) from cast members throughout all of Walt Disney World!  Please say Happy Birthday to him from me and I wish you all the most magical vacation ever!!!

    Best wishes,
    Brigitta
