We are coming in Oct and I would love to take the family horse back riding. I see that Tri-Circle-D Ranch provides trail riding. Does anyone know what the age requirements are? My youngest child is going to be 8 and my oldest 12. Neither have much exp.

While my kids have done the pony rides at Tri-Circle-D, we've yet to experience the trail rides, Christina.  It is on my Disney wishlist, though!  I just got off the phone with a Cast Member who deals with all things recreation.  Unfortunately, your youngest child is just a smidge to young to experience the trail rides at Fort Wilderness.  I was told that the minimum age for participation is nine.  I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news.  The good news is that Fort Wilderness does indeed offer a wide variety of recreational opportunities (think along the lines of watercraft rentals, carriage rides, and fishing).  I hope you are able to find a suitable alternative.  Good luck and have fun!

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
