Hi Cheryl,
Welcome to planDisney!
We are happy to see you dropping by with an excellent question! You may be relieved to know that
Walt Disney World® Bus Service ends one hour after park closing so if you have a dinner reservation for 5:00 p.m., you should have enough time to get to the bus. Just remember to give yourself enough time to actually walk to the bus pickup point outside of the park!
If you have not yet made that
advanced dining reservation, I would encourage you to make it a little earlier, perhaps 4:30 p.m.so that you can be done and headed out of the park by 6:30 p.m. If you decide that you want to linger a little longer, you could also call
Disney Minnie Van™ Service Connected by Lyft or you could use a standard ride share service with Uber or Lyft. Just keep your eye on the
park hours to make sure the closing time remains 6:00 p.m.
As you continue to plan, I am excited to see that you will likely be there during my favorite time of year, the
Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort. Disney's Polynesian Village Resort will be beautifully decorated as will the other resort hotels! Since you will have access to
Walt Disney World® Monorail Transportation, I do hope you get a chance to visit other resort hotels accessible from the monorail, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney's Contemporary Resort!
Cheryl, as your countdown begins, I also recommend following the Disney Parks Blog for holiday updates. Consider
10 Ways to Celebrate the Holidays Now With Disney Parks. And, if your budget allows, add tickets to
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom or
Disney Jollywood Nights at Disney's Hollywood Studios. My girls and I absolutely love Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, especially the music. As the joy of the season spreads throughout the parks and resorts, I trust that you will have the most amazing visit!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
