Welcome to planDisney Glenn! Thank you so much for bringing your question to us.
I am so sorry to hear that you have bad family news lately. What a wonderful parent you are to want to cheer up your family with a trip to the Disneyland Resort. I hope the trip is full of wonderful family memories that you'll share for a lifetime!
The
Australian Disneyland site does recommend that you work with a local travel agent to help plan your trip. I'm sure a local travel agent who specializes in trips to the Disneyland Resort would be the best person to help guide your family for a smooth trip to the States!
I'd love to share some of the special experiences that I've been fortunate enough to share with my family over the years! If your boys are Star Wars fans, you cannot go wrong with customizing your own lightsaber at
Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers, or assembling a custom droid at the
Droid Depot. Both experiences can be booked online up to 60 days in advance, you will need a reservation for both experiences. They are both immersive, hands-on experiences that will truly transport you to a galaxy far far away!
Another recommendation I have is a special dining experience for
World of Color - Season of Light. It's a special holiday version of the beautiful nighttime spectacular, and it warmed my heart last year. You could explore both a
World of Color Dining Package or a
World of Color Dessert Party experience for your family, both will come with a reserved viewing area for the show. There is no better way to get into the holiday spirit, the show is truly one big warm hug!
Glenn, I am sending all of my best wishes and pixie dust to your family. I hope you have a magical trip full of laughter and smiles during your visit to the "Happiest Place on Earth!" If we can help with anything else for your trip,
please do not hesitate to come back and ask.
Have a magical day!
Melissa
