Hello there Gary, I'm happy to welcome you to planDisney!
The Morocco Pavilion has certainly seen its share of changes over the past few years, which could be seen as a sign of the continual progress and development that we see across
EPCOT. In recent years we've observed a lot of different uses of the space formerly occupied by
Restaurant Marrakech, which includes a somewhat lesser-known spot known as the
Florida Blue Lounge. I had the opportunity to do a bit of research within the space last year and speak to the folks in charge who shared the following information with me:
- Florida Blue Medicare has been a proud sponsor of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival and according to the Cast Members staffing the location as well as the Florida Blue Medicare representative who were on hand to answer questions - this lounge is not exclusive to seniors. (I observed as a fellow guest in the lounge who had objected to children and younger people resting in what they assumed was a seniors-only space being firmly reminded that this lounge was for everyone, inclusive of age.) In fact, the activities available were geared towards younger guests with Cast Members eagerly inviting passers-by in and showing them how to acquire their lounge passes on their mobile devices; I also observed as they really seemed keen to encourage all kinds of folks and families to enjoy the complimentary refreshments as they distributed VIP seating for select shows of the Eat to the Beat Concert Series presented by Florida Blue Medicare.
- This past year, guests could use their My Disney Experience App and look up the Florida Blue Medicare Lounge to find a link to the registration form. This can also be found on the Florida Blue Medicare website by using search terms such as "Disney" or "Lounge". At the current time, the registration form has not been updated for 2024 and the page will likely change closer to the dates of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. Though these dates have yet to be released, we typically have official announcements in the spring that you'll find on the Disney Parks Blog.
- It's important to note that though this lounge has indeed been located within the Morocco Pavilion over the past two years, it had also previously occupied a space in the Norway Pavilion so details about where you can expect it to be this year and what offerings are available are always subject to change without prior notice.
Since you'll be coming at the tail end of the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, I must caution that there's a low likelihood of the Florida Blue Lounge being open. (Though surprise announcements do sometimes happen, I personally wouldn't anticipate the Florida Blue Lounge returning until the summertime.)
Stay tuned for updates on this year's lounge offering!
