I am coming in May for D2 Summit on a Varsity Package. Can I add a Disney dining plan to my stay?

Hey there, Amanda! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. I've got my spirit fingers ready, and I'm here to help with some pixie-dusted details for your upcoming trip to root for your #1 squad at Walt Disney World Resort. Grab your biggest, most bedazzled hair bow, and let's get to it!

There is nothing like competing at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex - it's a fantastic venue for athletes and fans. And of course, being able to visit everything that The Most Magical Place on Earth has to offer when you have some downtime makes for a truly magical experience. Congratulations to your team for receiving a bid to this year's D2 Summit!

The cheer and dance events sponsored by Varsity Spirit held throughout the year offer great spectator packages that include lodging at a Disney Resort Hotel, theme park tickets, admission to all days of the event, and dedicated bus transportation to the ESPN Complex. Guests who purchase the 3- or 4-night package also receive tickets to the Sunday night Celebration Party at EPCOT, when the park will be open exclusively for athletes, coaches, and spectators.

I spoke with a Cast Member and confirmed that unfortunately, group reservations booked through a third party are not eligible to add a Disney dining plan. Our family's favorite food option at ESPN is actually the food trucks - there is an açaí bowl truck that I will literally visit every day of our girls' dance competitions! These aren't on the dining plan, so we usually find we don't miss it too much.

Amanda, if you're planning to travel from ESPN to one of the theme parks or Disney Springs, keep in mind that there are no Disney buses that run directly to these locations. You can take the Varsity-provided transportation to your hotel and switch buses there, or take rideshare. The drop-off and pick-up locations are clearly marked, and there is generally a very short wait for a driver in the area.

I just know your squad is going to conquer the Summit next month! Sending all the good vibes for a successful competition and a "Hit Zero". Please come back and see us again at planDisney if we can help with any other questions to make your trip a practically perfect one!

    Go Team!
