Hi Sara,
Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel.
It sounds like you have awesome plans for your Walt Disney World vacation!
One of our favorite things to do on departure days when we're not enjoying a theme park is to tour Walt Disney World Resort hotels for shopping and dining. I personally think the Walt Disney World Monorail feels like a one-of-a-kind attraction by itself. Some of my
favorite food spots — both fine dining and casual dining — are along the Monorail loop. There are so many wonderful choices for meals, snacks, and shopping!
At Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, you can enjoy a Pineapple Lanai just outside the great Ceremonial House. At Disney's Contemporary Resort, you can savor delicious Quick Service meals at Contempo Café and take in the awe-inspiring Mary Blair mural as you watch the Monorails pass through above. At Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, we always enjoy stopping into Gasparilla Island Grill and also strolling through the beautiful lobby space. You might even want to look into one of the
Character Dining offerings for breakfast or lunch.
Each of the Resort hotels along the Monorail loop offers some unique shopping as well, so you might want to leave just a bit extra space for some last-minute souvenir magic.
One quick tip to share is that you'll want to allow yourself a little extra time when you leave one of the Resort hotels to board the Monorail as you'll pass through a security checkpoint before boarding.
Sara, here's wishing you a wonderful Walt Disney World stay.
Enjoy your Disney!
Jerry
