Coming May with DH and DS(8).Staying at AKL, 1 night planned just to relax at the hotel, 1 night going to HS. Went to MK and AK last time, were looking for something fun yet relaxing for 1 other night besides a theme park (already did Pirates & Pals to

    Sara:

Your son sounds like he may be the perfect age to enjoy all that Fort Wilderness has to offer. Every night, Chip 'n' Dale appear at the resort's Campfire Singalong led by a cowboy or cowgirl. You can bring your own marshmallows or buy a campfire pack at the Canteen and make your own s'mores before the evening's singalong which begins at 8:00 p.m. (during Day Light Savings Time). An outdoor movie is shown after the singalong if you choose to stay. Best of all, it's free.

Make an evening of it by riding the bus from Animal Kingdom Lodge to Magic Kingdom and then hopping on the boat to Fort Wilderness, an adventure in itself. You can eat at Trail's End or order from their take-out menu and enjoy dinner at one of the tables at the marina. It's a 10- to 15-minute walk to the Campfire Singalong right down the main thoroughfare of the fort, so give yourself plenty of time for the stroll and shopping at the Meadows Trading Post.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
